Fountain of Pouting
This structure is representative of modern popular architecture and was the result of an initiative by a resident of the Rocha site (Horácio Martins). This fountain, in the shape of a royal crown, was built from scratch in 1978 and its name is related to the “pout” with which other neighbors viewed this commendable initiative. The water is piped here from a spring located a few dozen meters to the east, on the hillside. Today, this is an obligatory stop-off point for the many tourists, mountaineers and climbers who visit Rocha da Pena.
