We’re almost ready to welcome you! The Algarvensis Geopark routes are not yet open to the public, but very soon you’ll be able to explore them with all your senses. For now, we invite you to discover the trails that will soon become part of your next adventure.

Discover the Fortress of Armação de Pêra, guardian of the coast and a place of deep emotional memories for those who live here. Approach the fishermen’s auction house, listen to their voices in the Algarvian dialect, and hear stories of love and courage lived by the sea.

Continue on to the Lagoa dos Salgados, where nature, history, and biodiversity come together in a setting of rare beauty. Here, the landscape holds the memory of the 1755 tsunami.

Explore the remnants of ancient volcanoes that heralded the age of the dinosaurs. In São Bartolomeu de Messines, lose yourself in the streets where poet and educator João de Deus was born, surrounded by red sandstone buildings that invite you into a time of conversation with local market folk and the discovery of the Parish Church, the João de Deus House-Museum, and the house where he was born.

Let yourself be enchanted by Vale Fuzeiros, as you walk among fragments of a world in separation. Here, the mountains were born from the sea, and every stone reveals deep chapters of Earth’s history Further ahead, feel the pride of a land where the Iberian lynx is reborn - a symbol of hope and wildlife preservation. End your journey in Silves, the westernmost and most splendid city of Garb al-Andalus, embraced by towering walls of rammed earth and sandstone. Here, narrow streets intertwine, crafts come to life, and flavours tell stories. Be awed by its castle, once an alcazaba that safeguarded palaces exalted in poetry, and by its grand Gothic cathedral - symbols of power and faith.
